Co-founders of the Mexico Solidarity Project, Bruce Hobson and Meizhu Lui will speak on why North American progressives should understand why Mexico is critical to advancing a vision of socialism and multiracial democracy in the United States.
A panel of three physicians will discuss how to achieve "Medicare for All" in the U.S., a single-payer publicly financed national health program that would fully cover medical care for all Americans, while lowering costs by eliminating the profit-driven private insurance industry with its massive overhead. The presenters will discuss their experience in convincing others of the merits of this program, as well as how we can attain it.
Presenters include: Cathy Canepa, MD, a retired psychiatrist; Dan Neuspiel, MD, MPH, a retired pediatrician; and Jessica Schorr Saxe, MD, a retired family physician. Cathy and Dan previously practiced in New York and North Carolina and now live in San Miguel de Allende. Jessica is visiting from Charlotte, North Carolina, where she was previously in practice. She is a leader in the movement for single-payer Medicare for All in North Carolina.>
