Where Can We Live In Peace?

This film, by documentary filmmaker Judy Jackson is an update from “Walk With Us” – which followed a caravan of Central American migrants - fleeing violence, poverty and climate change – as it moved through Mexico a year ago . Much of it was shot at the ABBA house shelter for migrants, through the eyes of its founder Pastor Ignacio Ramirez.

“Where can we live In Peace?” returns to ABBA to find out how much has changed in just one year. It documents Pastor Ignacio’s vision and frustrations as he continues his amazing work. And brings the difficult and distressing stories of migrants passing through. President Trump has all but closed the border. Mexico has reacted to his threats with policies that make the migrants’ journeys far more difficult and dangerous. Now many are asking “Where can we live in Peace?”

Immigration attorney and San Miguel resident Rebecca Eichler will introduce the film and answer questions about current conditions of the migrants at the borders. She has just returned from the border town of Matamoros, Mexico.
