Our Water Crisis
The aquifer on which San Miguel depends provides life-sustaining water to well over half a million residents. But wells are going dry, and the water that remains contains high levels of arsenic and fluoride. Dylan Terrell, executive director and founder of Caminos de Agua, will speak on the current state of water in our region through technical, social, and political lenses. Terrell will show the short film Consuming the Future which highlights the role of export-agriculture in depleting our aquifer.
