Apocalyptic Anxiety & Rumbles of Discontent: The Alienation Effect

Monday, September 11, 2023 - 1:00pm

Gregory Diamant

Fear, insecurity and loneliness seem to be pivot points in today's political and social environment. What is the relation between philosophical liberty and gross inequality? What role does alienation play and what is it? Are we alienated from nature as well as each other? We seem to be dancing around a Bonfire of the Inanities with no end in sight other than witless conflict and exhaustion. But what positive actions can we take to navigate out of this mess? That leads us to the age old question: "What is to be done?" I do not claim to have the answers although asking questions may help for us to see a path toward the future.
