Marx on Emancipation & Socialist Goals: Retrieving Marx for the Future

Wednesday, January 9, 2019 - 6:00pm
Bob Ware

Philosopher Bob Ware’s new book retrieves the emancipatory thought of Karl Marx for our times and for our future. Often maligned as out of date, Marx’s work is now enjoying a revival as increasing numbers are looking for an alternative to a failing capitalism. His ideas of emancipation and freedom in community reflect a deep concern with morality and democracy. Ware maintains that Marx’s often misunderstood ideas are now more vital than ever as we seek to build a better future.
