El Centro de Desarrollo Agropecuario más conocido como CEDESA nace como asociación civil en 1965 como una gran esperanza a las inquietudes y necesidades de los jóvenes y comunidades campesinas de la región del  norte de Guanajuato. Fue fruto del trabajo de pastoral  rural impulsado por el Secretariado Social Mexicano (SSM)  a través de los Secretariados Sociales Diocesanos.  Sus objetivos son formar, impulsar, orientar y fortalecer a las comunidades campesinas del Norte de Guanajuato.
