CELEBRATING CLIFF DURAND
Cliff DuRand

In celebration of the life and legacy of our beloved Cliff DuRand who died on March 17th following a brief illness, the Center for Global Justice is revisiting some of his last public talks. This week we view "Race and Identity" presented on January 16th, 2023, in celebration of Martin Luther King’s birthday. In this talk  Cliff DuRand examined the thorny questions of race and identity. What is race? Who is Black? Who is White? Why be Black? Can we choose our race?

Cliff DuRand was a founder and Research Associate of the Center for Global Justice and the Radical Philosophy Association. A retired Philosophy professor, he taught at historically Black Morgan State University in Baltimore where he was also a founder of the Progressive Action Center.
