ABBA House, founded by Pastor Ignacio Ramirez and located in Celaya, Mexico, is a safe waystation for some of the tens of thousands of migrants who are fleeing violence, crime, climate change, sanctions and corruption in Central America. Many migrants travel on the top of rapidly moving trains, and sadly some fall from “La Bestia” and lose limbs— their dreams of new lives shattered. ABBA House helps them heal with dignity.
Award-winning filmmaker Judy Jackson has recorded Pastor Ignacio’s work through the years for this multi-prize winning documentary. The screening will be followed by talk about the crises facing migrants and deportees today with Stan Allen and Pastor Ignacio of the ABBA migrant shelter (tbc), and Director Judy Jackson (www.judyfilms.com).
